My baby is six months old today.
I have been thinking all day about all the things I wanted to say in this post.
The way our lives have been forever changed by this angel.
The way this angel has grown and developed so much already.
The way she makes me laugh every single day.
The things we've taught her and that she's taught us.
The things we're looking forward to over the next 6 months.
All the ways we are grateful to be her mom and dad.
But my thoughts were just scattered all day.. bouncing around.. coming and going.
Until I was putting her to bed.
We followed our normal bedtime routine.
645-Bath, massage jammies.
715-We settle into our spot on the loveseat. Camy nurses to sleep, lingering for about an hour, while Mommy has her laptop at her side and the tv on low.
815ish-Camy usually pulls away and without opening her eyes, flails her little arms looking for a hand to hold. I reach out and take hold of her tiny little hand and let her settle into a deeper sleep for a little while.
830ish-I slowly get up from the loveseat and make my way to her room. We stand in the dark room with her sound machine on and I gently sway with her to make sure she's really out before laying her in her bed, slightly turned on her right side with her Hiram tucked behind her, cover her with her blanket.. and if needed, stay to hold her tiny hand a few minutes longer. {It amazes A and I both the way she searches for us in her sleep.. if she starts flailing and doesn't find a hand to grab within a minute or two, she'll wake up. As long as she can touch us, she's okay and stays snoozing. So cute.}
Tonight, all was the same.. until she pulled away and nestled into her little nook in the boppy.
I sat there staring at her beautiful little face, peacefully sleeping and was just overcome with emotion.
I cannot believe she is already 6 months old.
When we made it to her room tonight, I decided to sit in the chair with her and just take this evening in.
I sat and rocked with her asleep in my arms and just cried.
6 months and 1 day ago I was sitting in that chair with her all curled up in my belly.
I was so anxious to meet her but terrified of what our delivery day had in store.
I was so excited to become a mother, but worried about what kind of mother I would be.
I sat in that very spot 6 months and 1 day ago looking around her nursery.
Tonight, sitting in that chair, it was amazing to me how much of that room has changed in 6 months.
In the far corner, 2 plastic tubs full of outgrown clothing replace the brand new car seat that sat there waiting to be used by our brand new baby.
In the opposite corner, spit-up soiled onesies and banana-covered bibs, damp bath towels and stretched-out socks are piling up in the laundry basket I agonized over choosing at Target. {Yes, I agonized over her laundry basket. I agonized over every decision, really.}.
The changing table is now cluttered with all sorts of creams and lotions and prescriptions and toys for diaper-time distractions.. no longer in perfect, pristine order.
The photo frames have been filled with shots from her newborn session, candids from our daily shenanigans, close-ups of her adorable smile. A canvas print of her and her I'm-playing-coy-with-you-grin is hanging near her crib.
Her crib has become home to 3 binkies, 2 loveys, and 1 blanket.. all there to make her feel safe and cozy.
I love all the ways she has touched that room. Touched our home. Our lives.
I have cherished every day of these 6 months with her.
Her smiles. Her frowns. Her giggles and her squeals.
I have delighted in watching her learn and grow and cheered on every milestone reached (sometimes cheering so much that I frightened her!).
We survived the newborn phase in all its sleep-depriving glory.
We survived the 8 weeks of nightly "witching hour".
We survived her first cold. And her second. And third.
Croup. Pinkeye. RSV. And the ongoing Eczema.
We achieved our goal of breastfeeding for at least 6 months, and we're still truckin'.
We have come so far.
Camy has come so far.
She has grown into such a happy, cuddly little girl.
She loves to eat. So far she's had rice cereal, oatmeal, bananas, and sweet potatoes.
She loves to squeal. All day long. At us. At her toys. At herself.
She loves to go for walks. Or just to be outside. Unless its snowing. She does not love snow.
She's scooting and rolling herself all over the place.
She's able to sit unsupported for a few minutes at a time, unless she get's really excited.
She sleeps 10-11 hours a night (Haaaaaalelujah!) but thinks naps are for wimps.
"Zip" is her favorite word.. discovered one night when putting on jammies. She giggles every time. :)
She loves to listen to anyone singing. Even when that anyone doesn't know all the words.. or any of them.
She adores her cousins Sydnee and Ry-Ry. (And Jack Urban.) Nobody has ever made her laugh more than those three. And trust me, I've tried.
She is an absolutely amazing little girl.
We are so incredibly blessed to be able to call her ours.
Oh, I just love her so much I can't stand it.
We had her 6 month well-check today.
Our little angel isn't so little, as it turns out.
90th percentile in weight - 17 lbs 13 oz. (up 9lbs 10oz from birth!)
75th percentile in height - 26.25 inches. (up 6.25 inches from birth!)
90th percentile in head circumference - 44.5cm.
She checked out perfectly with the doc man and amazed us both by smiling through most of the exam.
Until the mean nurse with the needles came in... 4 shots and 1 oral vaccine = not a happy Camy.
I hate shots.
I cry right along with her. Every. Time.
We stayed in the room to nurse her afterward and she was fine by the time we checked out.
She fell asleep in the car and snoozed for an hour and a half, waking up with a smile on her face.
She's such a rockstar!
We will be heading out tomorrow (please be nice weather!) to take her 6 months photos.
Stay tuned for a post chock full of cute!
Happy Half-Birthday My Sweet, Sweet Girl.

On the eve of her Half-Birthday.... {photos added}
We discover a TOOTH!
Ack!
I was washing pump parts one-handed (cuz I'm awesome like that) with Camy on my hip. She dropped her toy so I let her gnaw on my finger.. and I felt that like bugger (technically called the right central incisor) right away!
I abandoned the sink full of pump parts and bottles and went to lay her on her changing table to investigate.. and there it was. Plain as day. Well, not plain as day really.. I had to go on search and rescue mission battling clamping jaws, batting hands and a wriggly tongue.. but I saw it! That tiny little white-grey line just breaking the surface of her gum.
So cute.
So scary.
But mostly cute.
:)
She hasn't been showing all the dreaded tell-tale signs of teething that I've heard about... no increase in her ever-present drool. No inconsolable fussiness. No sleeplessness. She's been her happy-go-lucky self.. just teething away.
We called her daddy at work to share the news and his first thought/comment: Your poor nipples.
I know, right?!?!
The camera battery is currently on the charger because I am just crazy enough to think I will be able to get photographic evidence of said tooth. I know, I'm looney.
Stay tuned.
Well, I suppose my looney status can now be confirmed.
How in the world does one photograph a baby toof??
Seriously?
Here are the outtakes from our afternoon:

Ten on Tuesday!
We have a very exciting Ten on Tuesday this week!
1. Snowmageddon 2010 - Texas Style! :)
2. Sunday we went to Camy's cousin Ty's 1st Birthday Party. It was a gorgeous day, 75 degrees and sunny, so we spent the majority of time outside. (Yes, the weather went from 75/sunny to SNOW in 48 hrs. Texas.)
Camy spent some time in Ty's swing and LOVED it. We are now in the market for an outdoor infant swing.. not of the race car variety, though!
3. After two failed attempts at rice cereal in the last 2 weeks (darn tongue-thrust reflex!), Sunday Camy finally ate some.. and she seemed to really enjoy it! It was like something just clicked in her head over the last week and she was now ready for some purees. The last time we tried to feed her, I don't think any cereal even made it past the plane of her lips. This time, she gobbled up the full 2 tablespoons. :) Unfortunately we were too preoccupied with the video camera to take any real photos. One of these days I'll figure out how to load all our videos on the computer!
4. We are one step closer to being able to ditch the infant car seat - Camy can now sit up in restaurant high chairs (with a cover, of course!)!! We tried her out in a high chair at IHOP and she did so well.. and LOVED being up at the table with everyone! She looked so cute sitting up in that chair like a big girl!!! While we were there, she gnawed on a piece of pancake (but I didn't let her get any bites) and she ate some mashed up banana! And boy did she love banana! :)
5. Continuing on her adventure with solid foods - today we gave her some sweet potato puree. Neither her dad or I like sweet potato but this little girl was practically lunging for the spoon!! Who is this girl? She only had about a half an ounce, but after her initial confusion over this new taste and texture, she loved every nibble!

6. Have you seen this video? It cracks me up that its titled "Are women born this way?" My answer? If they aren't, they sure grow into it rather quickly! Camy is a few days shy of being 6 months old and now talks all. the. time. Well, yells. Shrieks. Babbles. Its all the same, right? She'll actually converse with us now, which I love. If you talk to her, she'll holla right back at ya. :) We were cracking people up walking through Target yesterday.. the two of us just happily yelling and squealing back and forth, up and down the aisles. Again, if I knew how to get my videos off the camera and onto the laptop, I'd be able to share the hilarity that is Camy "talking".
7. Did I just say Camy is "a few days shy of being 6 months old"? WHAT?! How can this possibly be? My sweet little chub chub is going to be celebrating her Half-Birthday on Friday. It brings a smile to my face and makes me want to cry, all at the same time. We will be having her 6 months photos taken very soon by the always amazing Lyndsay... so keep your eyes peeled.
8. My silly little girl cracks me up every day. On this particular day last week, she really outdid herself. As I was filling her bathtub, I heard a strong, sucking noise and looked over at Camy expecting to see her fingers in her mouth. Nope. This is what I found:
10. I'll leave you with this, because I just love love it....
This photo of Camy with her Daddy just melts my heart.

our front yard and cul-de-sac
camy all bundled up in her stroller
exploring the snow
she's a little apprehensive
...not enjoying the cold!
camy thinks its time to go back inside!

9. Is it sad that I'm jealous of my 6 month old's lashes?
But at least we have matching bald spots. [Darn post partum hair loss.]

Date Night Observations
Last Thursday was our first date night since Camy was born. We celebrated my birthday and Valentine's Day by going out to dinner and then to a Cirque du Soleil show. A gave me the Cirque tickets for my birthday and arranged for my mom to watch the Little One. Date nights have taken on a new meaning since becoming a mama.. and here are a few things I learned.
- Getting all dolled up is no longer good for my self esteem.
- I have way more grey hair than I thought! Mommy needs her hair dyed!
- Being able to wear my pre-pregnancy jeans does not mean that my pre-pregnancy dresses will zip past my hips. And even if they did, they certainly wouldn't fit over my boobs!
- Putting on makeup is not like riding a bike. You can in fact forget how to do it after being long out of practice.
- My post-partum hair loss has left me in ponytails for the last several weeks to avoid picking stray hairs off myself every minute of every day. I wore my hair down for date night, and I'm fairly certain that my every move could have been traced by the trail of hair I'm sure I left behind. How am I not bald?
- When leaving Camy with my mother for the evening, I forget that she raised me and end up giving her a ridiculously detailed spiel about how and what to do with Camy and when.
- My mom nods and says "Okay" to humor me when its obvious what she really wants to say is "Becky. Chill. I got this!".
- It doesn't matter how excited I may be about our date night plans, walking out the door without Camy is hard
- After spending 99.5% of the last 5 months, 3 weeks and 4 days with Camy, its hard to NOT talk about baby stuff all the time.
- My husband is endlessly patient with me and my Mommy Separation Anxiety. Man, I love him for that.
- I had forgotten how nice it is to finish a meal while its still hot.. and be able to eat with 2 hands!
- Breastfeeding has turned me into a lightweight. Half of an Italian Margarita was more than enough.
My most important observations:
- It does not make me a bad mother to take time out for myself and my marriage. In fact, it makes me a better mother. Getting out of the house and being able to chat and laugh with A was wonderful. I'm a little ashamed to admit that I have seriously neglected our marriage since becoming a mother, and date night made me realize how much I've missed our friendship.
- Camy is/will be fine being away from me for a short time every once in a while. I'm not the only one capable of meeting her needs.. I need to let others do so from time to time!

Five Question Friday
1. Have you ever hit an animal with your vehicle?
Yes. 3.
The first was a squirrel when I was in high school. Hardly phased me. I mean, c'mon.. squirrels are just rats with bushy tails, right?
The second was a dog and I was totally traumatized.
It was near midnight, I was driving on a 2 lane, unlit county road out to my then-boyfriend's house, and the dog seriously came. out. of. nowhere.
I swerved to miss it and ended up just clipping him but I immediately pulled over, already in tears before the car came to a stop.. went over to the dog, who was still alive... he was growling/grumbling and trying to get up. I could not in good faith just leave him there, so I called the then-BF to come help (he laughed and told me to just leave, ass). With no help from the ass, I called 911. Yes, I did. I called 911.
They sent a police officer out there, and by the time he arrived, the dog managed to get to his feet but couldn't really walk, his back legs kept giving out.
The officer was very kind and could see that I was really upset.. I kept telling him to just put the dog in the back of my jeep and I would take him to an emergency vet. But he wouldn't. He advised me to leave because he needed to put the dog out of its misery.... But I wouldn't leave.
He called in Animal Control, and the AC guys assured me that they would "do it humanely" (because I thought they were just going to shoot it and I was FUHreaking out.
I called my mom (yes, in the middle of the night), and she came to get me because I was too upset to drive home. They waited for me to leave before taking care of the dog, and I didn't sleep a wink that night.
We went to pick my car up from the side of the road the next day, and I debated in my head going door to door in the area asking if anyone lost their dog but ultimately decided not to because I didn't want to have to admit to a pet owner that I hurt their furbaby. :(
Ugh, I am still kicking myself in the butt for hitting that poor dog.
And the third was a cat, and I'm not even sure how or where I hit it- it felt/sounded like it jumped up and hit the under-carriage of my car.. I definitely didn't hit it with my tires. And it was totally fine.. ran off under a bush, I went and found it to check on it, no visible injuries and seemed totally okay. That was the weirdest thing! I'm still puzzled.
2. When you see a string on your clothes do you pull it off or cut if off?
I usually just pull it off.
3. Did you have your own room or share a room when you were young?
I shared a room with my younger sister until middle school. My older sister moved out the summer after I "graduated" 5th grade. [Ha, 5th Grade Graduation.. good times!] I moved into her room when she left for college. And man did I think I was cooler than school. My own room AND my sister's waterbed. LOL. Oh, waterbeds. Those were the good ol' days.
You know what I remember most about sharing a room? We had bunk beds in one corner of the room, and I would draw a chalk line on the carpet and tell my sister that the front end of the room (where the beds were) was hers, the back end of the room (that had the window) was MINE. And MINE ONLY. You are NOT allowed to EVER cross this line! Got it, kid? Your room {points}, myyyyyy room {points}. Ha.
4. Would you rather wear the same thing for the rest of your life or eat the same thing for the rest of your life?
I would be perfectly content wearing jeans and a tee shirt everyday for the rest of forever.
I could not, however, eat the same thing for the rest of my life.
That's an easy-peasy either/or.
5. What was your favorite TV show as a child?
OOoooh, good one.
Hmmm.. I remember watching a lot of Rugrats. Rocko's Modern Life. Doug. Clarissa Explains It All. Hey Dude. Salute Your Shorts. Blossom. Saved By The Bell.
Your turn, play along!

uuuuugh. and Valentine's Day.
Guess what I just found?
Camy's Valentine's Cards. Not mailed out. Not even in envelopes.
We had photos taken at Picture People on a total whim one day and Camy ROCKED it. Got some super cute photos despite my reservations about mall photo studios. We ordered a set of photo cards for Camy to send to all her BFFs and totally forgot about them.
How does that happen??
Would it be super tacky to mail them now?
The answer is yes.
But I don't care.
Camy and I will go on an adventure to the post office manana.
[Sidenote: How do you the squiggly above the n for manana?]
Valentine's Day.
Andy and I never make a huge deal out of Valentine's Day, but we do usually take the opportunity to be over the top cheesy with one another via sappy love cards. Its fun for me.
This year we are celebrating on the 18th with a nice dinner out followed up by a Cirque du Soleil show (love!). I wasn't expecting any gifts on the day-of, but Andy scored MAY-JOR brownie points by getting me a video camera!!! wooooot!
I have been taking lame-o videos on my years old point and shoot camera, and they totally suck.
But now I can take videos of Miss CamyLouWho all. the. time! YAY!
We already have 14 (yes, in a span of about 24 hours) videos that I'd like to upload.. and 3 or so worth sharing. If only Windows 7 didn't sucky suck... the software that came with the camera isn't compatible with 7 so we are waiting on an update.
One of the videos is of Camy just cracking up watching her cousin Syd jumping around the room. Best. thing. ever!
The others are of Camy finger painting!!!!
That is how we celebrated Valentine's Day with Camy. We were trying to get some hand prints but she had other plans, and after a few successful hands were printed, we let her just go to town. It was cute! :)
Camy also left me a very special Valentine's message after her bath last night:
Her Daddy promises it was all her doing.
Hope you all had a Happy Heart Day with the ones that you hold dear!!
One quick question before I go...
Do you think its time to retire the bouncy seat?
Holy Mother of Pearl. I would say so!!!
[disclaimer: yes, I know there are straps that should have been buckled. I set her down for 2.4 seconds and was in arm's reach.. just needed to get myself situated before sitting down to nurse her. As soon as I set her down she started trying to roll over and scoot down. So I did what any good mother would do. Grabbed the camera. Naturally. Bye bye beloved bouncer.]

Ten on Tuesday! Huh?
And by "Tuesday", what I really mean is FRIDAY. Of course.
I had most of the list done on Tuesday but never went back to finish up and add the photos.
Better late than never, no?
1. I am so over this craptastic weather. If it isn't raining or sleeting, its crazy windy and frigidly cold. I miss taking walks with my sweets. And I think she's getting a little stir crazy staring at her pink play rug and my crazy mug all day, every day. Poor girl.
2. We got Camy her highchair this weekend. She looks like such a big girl in it!
3. Having an awesome new high chair in the house made us a tad adventurous. Rebellious. Well, weak would really be the best word to describe us!
We gave in before the 6 month mark and offered Camy some bananas.
4. We also got Camy her convertible carseat, finally deciding to go with the Graco MyRide 65 because we can keep her rear-facing until 40 lbs (hopefully, height permitting!). We aren't ready to make the switch quite yet but couldn't pass up the awesome deal we were getting that weekend. I think I will be very emotionally torn the day we give up the infant carrier. I will be happy to see that big lug retired as it is a total pain in my rear to carry in/out of the house.. but I will be sad to see another "infant" item packed away.
5. I love the way my little love sleeps these days. As soon as her sleepy little head hits the mattress at night, her arms go up and her hands go behind her head. It is so darn cute. I so wish I could get a picture of it because I know it won't last long, but there's no way in hell she'd sleep through the clicking or the flash (or the light needed to get a photo without the flash). I tried taking a pic of the video montior. Fail.
6. Camy loves little guys. Kiddos her size. Anyone under the age of 7 is her BFF. She lights up when there's a big kid to watch and cracks up at any and every move a big kid makes. Today was hysterical - we went to the twins' Valentine's Party at their preschool and being in a room of a dozen 2-3 year olds seemed like Camy's dream come true. I thought she'd be tired and cranky but the girl was just eating up every second of the Valentine's shenanigans. Children just walking across the room had her laughing. And oh man, if one of the kiddos came right up to her to talk to her, she would just beam from ear to ear and giggle like crazy. She let out more than a few excited squeals, and had everyone in the room chuckling at one point. She loved it!
7. This is Daddy's idea of a fun baby toy.
I guess its better than the ziploc bag he let her play with last weekend (supervised by him, mind you, but it still made me freak my freak when I walked into the room and saw it!).
8. Look at my baby, and her baby blues.
I had most of the list done on Tuesday but never went back to finish up and add the photos.

And a little apprehensive about the mushed stuff!
...though not really impressed in the end.

This isn't from today, but it proves my point.
She loves when her cousin, Rylan, comes to play!!
7. This is Daddy's idea of a fun baby toy.
I guess its better than the ziploc bag he let her play with last weekend (supervised by him, mind you, but it still made me freak my freak when I walked into the room and saw it!).
8. Look at my baby, and her baby blues.
9. She can hold her own bottle! How? Wha? When did that happen?
10. She's a goober. She kept contorting herself into all these awkward positions in her saucer.. flinging herself around, slowing lowering her head onto the tray as in the pic, bouncing and kicking and going all crazy.
What did I eat that day that made her such a nut? I will never know.
{the patches on her cheeks are eczema. it got really bad for a few days and is finally on the mend.
we can't seem to keep it in check for very long. poor baby.}
Five Question Friday
Sorry for the blog slacking. I actually have a 10 on Tuesday I need to publish, but it needs photos first.
So for now, I'll participate in my first Blog Hop! :)
How about a Five Question Friday?!

Okay, so let me tell the story --
We were in Port Aransas with his whole family for Thanksgiving (they go every year, we go every other year). After our big Turkey Day Feast, A asked me if I wanted to go for a walk on the beach with him. I unexpectedly declined telling him I thought it was inappropriate to leave his whole family to walk on the beach after dark - we could do that another time and I didn't want them wondering what we were doing. Little did I know, everyone was in on it. A's sister told me to just go and enjoy the evening, so I reluctantly went down to the beach. Once we got down there we realized it was really windy and I hadn't brought my sweater down with us. A gave me his, but I was still being a whiney baby about the wind. And the darkness (I'm a scaredy cat). We walked just a short while then started heading back.. because I was being a big baby. I could tell A wanted to stay down there, but I just wanted to get back up to the condo. He convinced me to stop at a landing halfway back up the boardwalk and just chat and look at the stars a while. I agreed. As we were sitting there, we saw the BIGGEST shooting star either of us has ever seen. It was amazing. So big in fact that I started wondering if it was something else.. a missile? A UFO? I'm a freak. We both made wishes then I asked what A wished for.. he got down on one knee and I fuh-reaked. I thought he was kidding and kept telling him to get up, "this isn't funny, A...", "you can't joke about proposals!!". He gave me his adorable, heart-warming speech and I just kept saying "Are you SERIOUS?!" "What are you DOING?!".. When he pulled the ring out of his pocket, I laughed. I laughed. I seriously thought he picked up one of those cheapy sea-shell rings they sell by the registers at every gift shop in every beach town in the world. When he put the ring on my finger, I could tell it wasn't a sea shell ring but couldn't see it because it was so dark. So we walked --okay, I ran-- to the nearest light along the boardwalk. When I saw the ring, I just started crying. And then felt like the biggest ass. Of course, I said yes about eleventy billion times and we sat talking, crying, laughing for a bit before heading back up to the condo. We were met with a champagne toast when we got back and I couldn't believe everyone knew but me. :)
I can't wrap my mind around the fact that we have been together nearly 6 years now. In so many ways it feels like we just moved in together yesterday, but in other ways I just don't remember what my life was like without him. Or Camy.
Those 2. The loves of my life.
Happy Valentine's Day, everyone!

How about a Five Question Friday?!

1. What is the one thing your love does for you that you can't live without?
Truthfully, at this point in our lives, the way he parents our sweet baby girl is irresistible. I could list any number of physical things, or his little quirks that I love.. but seeing him as an amazing daddy trumps them all.
2. When did you know your love was "the one"?
We were introduced to each other in April of 04, started dating in May 04, and moved in together Sept 04. I was pretty sure he was a keeper by the time we moved in together, otherwise I wouldn't have made such a crazy leap!
3. Does your love have a special ringtone on your cell?
Nope. Everyone has the same tone. I'm boring like that.
4. What are you attracted to most in your special someone?
Physically? His eyes. His crystal clear, blue-as-the-sky, eyes. Especially when he laughs. Those eyes.. they get me.
5. Did you know when/where he/she was going to pop the big question?
I knew a proposal was in our future because we had recently purchased our first home together and I made it perfectly clear that I wouldn't be putting my name on a mortgage with someone who didn't have plans to put a ring on my finger. I had no idea when he was doing it though and was WAY surprised. In fact, I was so clueless right up until he dropped to one knee that I almost foiled his plans a few times. :)Okay, so let me tell the story --

Ten on Tuesday!
1. Camy finally rolled back to belly today!! All by herself. Without me getting her legs going, without me helping her situate her arms. Since her big discovery, the girl hasn't stayed on her back more than 12.6 seconds all day, she immediately flops herself over. :) She's so funny.
2. I have decided Dads are wimps. Andy took the day off today to be with me and Camy and get a few things done around the house, but he woke up "queasy" this morning, got sick once, and laid around all. day. long. Ha. Queasy. He doesn't know what queasy is.. must we review my first 20-some-odd weeks of pregnancy in all its hyperemesis glory?! Must we?
3. Tomorrow I am hosting the mommy get-together at my house for the first time. Can't wait!
4. Currently we are part-time cloth diaperers (diaperers?). She is about to be out of Pampers Swaddlers though, and so far I have hate hate hated the brands we've tried in bigger sizes. I am trying to convince Andy that now is a good time to make the jump to full-time-cloth-diaper-hood.. which was always our intention, but the convenience of disposables just kept luring us in. We need to beef up our stash just a tad to go full time, which is where the objection from A comes in. I'm working on him though... and I usually win, so I have high hopes!
5. Tonight I am going to try to sleep in our own room. Not in the guest room across from Camy. I am sad.
6. There is a big adventure waiting for Camy just over the horizon: solid foods!!! I don't think we will make it to 6 months like we planned.. but we shall see. I should be getting my Baby Led Weaning book in the mail tomorrow, and we are getting her high chair on Saturday. Once the chair is in the house, I may not be able to put it off til 6 months! ;)
7. We are also getting her convertible carseat Saturday, because we can't pass up the awesome deal we're getting with the Babies R Us Trade-In Event and a gift card we have. We won't switch her until she hits the weight/height on her infant seat, but I'm still excited about getting her big girl chair!
8. In other big girl news, we plan on ditching the paci sometime between now and 6 months. I am a-scared. She's gone from her paci being her BFF, to only taking it about 50% of the time. She doesn't usually take it at night anymore, and naps are iffy. The only time she seems to like it is in the car or when she's overwhelmed.. like at a 4 year old's McDonald's birthday party with 2 dozen screamingheathens children running about.
9. I gave my precious baby a bloody nose today. I feel like the worst mommy in America. :( She was sitting on my lap in her rocker as I was taking her shirt off for bath.. as the shirt came free from her big old noggin, her head came forward and bumped my collar bone. I gasped and waited for a reaction from her, looked at her a minute- she seemed stunned but otherwise fine so we got up and got her PJs ready then headed toward the tub. Andy saw blood on my shirt and asked what it came from - her nose. And I hadn't even noticed. :( She was fine.. I was not.
10. We have learned that mastering the art of rolling back to belly = not going to sleep like a good girl at bedtime. Awesome. C'mon Mom, rolling is way too much fun to just go to sleep in here!
Photos tomorrow. Hopefully.
