Its been over a month since I updated this bad boy? Man, I'm a sucky blogger.
I have come back and started several updates, but here's the thing: I have a mobile baby.
Yeah.. we all know what people say about excuses. I know.
But really, in a house FULL of toys (and I mean f-u-l-l), all the girl wants is my cell phone or my laptop. Which means talking to the outside world, be it over the phone or via my blog, is darn near impossible.
I will try to do better about checking in during her naps. Lately, if I'm not napping right along with her, I'm stuffing my face while I can or cleaning something that was neglected during playtime.. or something else that shouldn't be more important than my blog, but is.
A super quick update - we are in the homestretch to the one year mark. Unbelievable.
She is AWESOME. She is such an awesome little girl and every single day I have more than one moment where I stop and think (or say out loud to anyone listening) that I have the most awesome baby girl ever in the history of baby girls. We are so stinking lucky, its not even funny.
She is so much fun. And learning at the speed of light. And cracking me up all the time.
She's an excellent eater, a great sleeper, super loving and friendly, and just perfectly perfect.
We have been having tons of fun with her at this stage, and I kinda almost just-a-little-bit wish she could stay this age forever. But I think I've said (or thought) that about every stage, and have always loved the next stage more than the last. Parenthood is pretty cool that way, I suppose. At least for the first 12 years. ha.
Birthday party planning is in full swing.
We are down to one nursing per day (nighttime).
We are starting the very slow transition to whole milk.
She does not get anymore babyfood purees, unless you count yogurt and applesauce.
She is starting to stand unassisted and walk just holding one hand.
Her favorite trick right now is scooting backwards... off the couch, off the bed, or just around the house.
She loves her Bedtime Peek-A-Boo book, and her stuffed puppy/teething toy.
She also loves to pick up anything she can reach, hold it up to her cheek and say "awwww".
She gives kisses now, complete with the kissy sound and everything.
She can point to my nose and her nose once or twice in a row before getting confused and starting to point at her cheek or ear instead.
She LOVES playing in the water - in the bath, with the hose, the water table, the sprinkler park. We successfully turned her into a water baby before summer's end! YAY!
And today, finally, for the first time, she has started making "mamamama" sounds!!!!! Best. Sound. Ever. She's been saying "dada" for weeks now, even with purpose pointing at her dada, but had never uttered a single "ma". Until today. :)
We have totally slacked off on her month pictures, and I'm super disappointed in ourselves for that. But, we are still within a week of her 11 month-day, so I think I will try to get them tomorrow. It can still count, right? 10 month-day is a loss though. And I'm pretty sure 9 was too. Dang. We suck. I am going to really regret that later, I'm sure. I promise to get her 12 months photos on time though! Promise.
That's all for my super quick update.
Sorry for the blog vacay, if anyone even noticed. ;)
