Quick update on my Dad:
He was in the hospital for about 2 weeks, then transferred to an in-home rehab/skilled nursing facility. He had a number of heart and blood pressure issues while in the hospital that have since been stabilized. He was doing really well with his rehab, standing with assistance, walking with a one-armed walker, learning how to maneuver himself from bed to wheelchair and back again, etc. He can move his left leg a bit, but does not have complete control of it yet. He has not regained any control of his left arm yet.
Unfortunately, yesterday he spiked a fever and later in the day lost use of his right arm and had lost control of his speech. He knew what he wanted to say but couldn't articulate it.. he would try to spell things out but only random letters would come through. He was transferred back to the hospital ICU late last night and is undergoing a series of tests today to figure out what is causing this. They did a CT scan last night that did not show any new stroke activity (thank God!) but they cannot figure out a) where this fever came from, and b) what is causing this regression and these new symptoms.

In other news:
Cam is doing so, so well at school. She has one more month in the Toddler Room before being bumped up to Early Preschool (whaaat?!). I can't believe I will have a preschooler! But she is so ready for the next room. She is becoming more and more independent every day, and so ready to potty train, so I am glad she will be in a room better suited to foster this kind of growth. And I love the teacher she will have, so that definitely helps me (and her) with this transition!
Her speech has really exploded recently, and its so much fun to have full-on conversations with her. She is speaking in sentences now, asking for things and telling stories unprompted, says "Bless you" when someone sneezes, argues when she doesn't want to do something, randomly talks about her friends from school or asks to see certain family members -- she's like a whole new person with all this speech! Her own, independent, little person! Such an amazing stage!

We have been having such a busy, fun-filled summer! My girl LOVES her some water play, so we are always either heading to the local splash pad, splashing in our water table in the yard, heading over to Nona's house to play in their little pool with her cousin, or making water plans with friends. Always. Weekends = Water for us.
Here are some fun photos we've captured this summer:

Hope everyone has been having as much fun this summer as my Sweet Cam has!
